Starting With Ourselves: A Jewish Open Space for Anti-Racism

JCC East Bay, Berkeley Branch

The Bend the Arc Racial Justice team invites you to participate in an informal gathering, or "open space".

Often many of us feel we lack the language, support system, or knowledge to do or support anti-racist work. This gathering will be a supportive space to explore experiences and assumptions in the service of ending racism. Come ready to engage in thoughtful and thought-provoking conversations. All questions, concerns, levels of understanding, and connections with Judaism are welcome. No experience necessary.

For more information and to RSVP, please contact the Racial Justice Team at

*All Jews are welcome to participate and we anticipate white Jews to be the majority of participants at these sessions. If you are a Jew of Color and would like to connect with other Jews of Color through Bend the Arc, please contact Leili at

Bay Area Jeremiah Fellowship Graduation

San Francisco, RSVP for address

Since July, our Jeremiah Fellows have come together monthly to build meaningful community, explore the intersections of Jewish identity and social justice work, and work on local and statewide campaigns alongside our partners. Our Jeremiah Fellows have made an impact in the Bay Area by winning the strongest statewide sentencing reform in California’s history, fighting alongside our allies for urgently-needed statewide sanctuary legislation to protect our immigrant neighbors from deportation, building power for a groundbreaking statewide money bail reform campaign and developing racial justice programs within Jewish communities. Join us in celebrating the graduating Bay Area cohort of Jeremiah fellows and hear from National Board member Tonda Case, alongside three graduating fellows.

Criminal Justice Reform Team Meeting

1721 Broadway #201
94612 Oakland , CA

Mass incarceration has drastic impacts on our communities and Bend the Arc: Bay Area has joined a campaign to turn the tide. Today, close to 135,000 Californians are in state prison, costing more than $62,000 each annually. We need to end the cycle of mass incarceration and we should be spending more money on education than incarceration, especially of non-violent offenders.

Join our Criminal Justice Reform campaign at our bi-montly team meeting. RSVP to
