Heather Booth is the most influential person you never heard of. The newest film by critically acclaimed filmmaker Lilly Rivlin, HEATHER BOOTH: CHANGING THE WORLD is an urgent response to the recent change in administration. The film blends interviews from close friends, clients, colleagues and current Midwest Academy students with graphics, animation and a mélange of new technologies to explore Heather’s legacy in progressive politics and organizing.

Following the film, join Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice national board member Rabbi Sydney Mintz, along with director Lilly Rivlin and Heather Booth herself for a post-fiilm panel discussion.

The Bail Trap - Screening and Panel

California's bail system is unfair and has to go. In Alameda County's Santa Rita Jail, approx 75% of people inside are there because they cannot afford bail. No one should be locked up because they can't pay. Come learn more about what we're doing to change the system. The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights is hosting a screening of The Bail Trap, a film about what's really going on with the bail industry, and what we can do to stop it.
