Linda Rhine

Linda Rhine is a recent retiree after a 35+ year career in transportation planning. She was as a public sector employee at the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans) before joining Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates in 1992. Nelson\Nygaard is a San Francisco based progressive transportation planning firm committed to developing transportation systems that promote vibrant, sustainable and accessible communities. Linda was a principal, shareholder and longtime member of the firm’s Board of Directors. Her planning practice was dedicated to transit and alternative forms of transportation especially for people who require specialized services because of a physical or cognitive disability or simply cannot afford a private automobile.

She is an avid cyclist, an active member of the Oakland Yellow Jackets Bicycle club and recently served on the Board of Directors for Walk Oakland – Bike Oakland (WOBO), a non-profit organization that advocates for improved bicycle and pedestrian facilities throughout Oakland.    

She is a long-term Bay Area resident and currently lives near Lake Merritt in Oakland.  Linda recently became a grandmother to a beautiful baby girl named Talia.
